Exporting data

Use Export on the account’s Projects grid to download a complete project package. The ZIP is a read-only snapshot that can be stored offline or imported into another project.

Before exporting:

  1. Confirm which account contains the project.
  2. Confirm that you have permission to export projects. The account-level Export action is available to account Owners and Managers.
  3. Allow enough time and storage space for projects containing many documents.

Exporting downloads a snapshot. It does not change the project or create an internal restore point.

  1. Return to the account’s Projects page.
  2. Select the checkbox beside the project you want to export.
  3. Confirm that only the intended project is selected.
  4. Select Export in the toolbar.
  5. Allow the browser to finish downloading the ZIP before closing the page.
  6. Store the package in an appropriate secured location.

The account-level export produces a project import package containing the project’s data. Keep the ZIP intact if it will be imported later.

An exported ZIP can be used for:

  • Offline storage or transfer.
  • Providing a project snapshot to an authorised recipient.
  • Importing the project data into another suitable destination.

To import the package:

  1. Open the destination project.
  2. Create a backup of the destination project.
  3. Open Manage → Data → Import (Legacy).
  4. Choose the exported ZIP and select Import.

Read Importing Data before importing. Import (Legacy) does not create a pre-upload backup.
