Associated Equipment

Associated Equipment holds secondary-device records such as glands, seals, stopping plugs, and IS barriers. These records are separate from primary equipment and can be linked to it.

The project view lists associated equipment in the current project. It is not the account-wide Account Resources workspace. The Associated Equipment Window shows an individual record beside the grid.

Commands appear in the toolbar or its grid menu, depending on width. The menu beside Associated Equipment changes the record view.

ControlWhat it doesScope / behaviour

Description is required in Add Assoc Eq Item. Further device values can be included before review; Toggle all fields shows or hides the complete field set.

Review displays the proposed item and Confirm creates it. Creating the associated-equipment record does not by itself create a relationship to primary equipment.

Edit → Update applies the same proposed values to each selected record. Only fields included in the update change.

ControlWhat it does
+ Add fieldIncludes a field in the update.
Toggle all fieldsShows or hides the full field list.
ReviewShows the proposed before-and-after values.
ConfirmApplies the reviewed changes to the selected records.

Changing filters or pages does not clear the selection. The visible rows are not necessarily the complete update target.

The grid separates individual record details from the selected records used by toolbar commands.

ControlWhat it doesScope / behaviour
Row checkbox / header select menuSelects individual records or a defined group.Page, entire-tab, filtered, and clear-selection options are described in Selecting Items.
Three-dot buttonOpens the Associated Equipment Window. The record on that row.
Row-menu arrowOpens the row’s additional actions. The individual record.
Linked_itemsDisplays how many primary equipment items are linked.A relationship count rather than an associated-equipment tag number.
Editable cellAccepts a proposed field value in batch-edit mode. The individual record and field.
Column filters / headingsFilters visible rows or sorts them.Does not clear the selection.
Pager / Page SizeChanges the visible page or number of rows.Selected rows on other pages remain selected.

Direct cell edits use Save → Batch Edit Summary → Confirm Save. The summary shows the changed values before they are applied. Discard cancels pending cell edits and Exit Batch Edit leaves the editing session.

This flow is separate from Edit → Update, which changes chosen fields across selected records.

The visible columns depend on the grid layout. The Associated Equipment Window describes the record separately from the equipment linked to it.

InformationMeaning
Description / ServiceWhat the secondary device is and its use.
Manufacturer / ModelDevice identification.
Certification and Ex ratingThe device’s certification and protection-rating information.
IS input / output parametersIntrinsic-safety parameter information where applicable.
Linked_itemsThe number of primary equipment relationships.

The Equipment view supplies Link → Link Assoc Eq. Items. The selected primary equipment receives the relationships. The linking dialog identifies those items above the grid and hides associated equipment already linked to them.

The Equipment Window’s Assoc. Eq. section shows an item’s existing relationships. Unlinking removes a relationship, not the secondary-device record.

The menu beside Associated Equipment offers Go to Archive, Go to Trash, and Go to Live.

StateMeaningRecovery control
LiveAssociated equipment in the active view. Not applicable.
ArchiveRecords retained outside Live.Un-archive, followed by confirmation.
TrashDeleted records that remain recoverable.Restore, followed by confirmation.

Empty Trash permanently deletes every associated-equipment item in Trash, rather than only checked rows.
