Associated Equipment Window

The Associated Equipment Window opens from the three-dot button beside an associated-equipment row. Like the other current record Windows, it shows details beside the grid.

It describes the secondary device itself. The Equipment Window’s Assoc. Eq. section describes which secondary devices are linked to a primary equipment item; these are different interfaces.

The Window identifies the record opened from the row. Selecting associated equipment in the grid is a separate operation that determines the target of Edit → Update, Archive, and Delete.

ContextWhat it identifies
Open WindowOne associated-equipment record being viewed.
Associated Equipment selectionSecondary-device records targeted by grid commands.
Equipment selectionPrimary equipment that receives links through Link Assoc Eq. Items.

The close button dismisses the Window; it is not a record-deletion command.

The record’s device information describes a gland, seal, stopping plug, IS barrier, or another secondary device. The grid layout may show only some of this information.

InformationMeaning
DescriptionIdentifies the secondary device; required when creating the record.
ServiceThe device’s use or category.
Manufacturer / ModelDevice identification.
Certification and ratingsCertification and device-rating information.
IS input / output parametersIntrinsic-safety parameters where applicable.
Linked itemsRelationships with primary equipment. A link count is not a Tag No.

Changes across selected secondary devices use Associated Equipment — Update. The same new values apply to each selected item for fields included in that update.

An associated-equipment record must exist before it can be linked. Links are created from the primary Equipment view: Link → Link Assoc Eq. Items uses the selected primary equipment as its target.

The linking dialog shows the selected primary items above its grid. Already-linked secondary devices are hidden from that linking grid.

Unlinking removes the relationship between the records without deleting the associated equipment. Project-level archive and deletion commands operate on secondary-device records, as described in Associated Equipment.

These guides explain tasks associated with the record.
