Managing associated equipment

Associated equipment records describe secondary devices such as glands, seals, stopping plugs, and IS barriers. Use the Associated Equipment tab to maintain these records and the Equipment tab to link them to primary equipment.

  1. Open the Associated Equipment tab.
  2. Select Add.
  3. In Add Assoc Eq Item, enter a Description. This field is required.
  4. Add any other details needed for the device. Use Toggle all fields to show or hide the complete field set.
  5. Select Review.
  6. On Review changes, check the new item.
  7. Select Confirm. A success screen lists the fields added to the record.

Create the associated equipment record before linking it to primary equipment.

Use Filters to narrow the grid. Active filters appear above the grid and identify the fields being filtered.

To select associated equipment:

  1. Select the checkbox beside each item you want to work with.
  2. Check Selection Count before starting an action.

For advanced options, see Filtering and sorting and Selecting items.

For a quick change, edit the value directly in the grid:

  1. Double-click an editable cell.
  2. Enter the new value and press Enter.
  3. Continue editing other cells if required.
  4. Select Save and review the changed values in Batch Edit Summary.
  5. Select Confirm Save to apply the changes.

Use Discard to cancel pending changes. Select Exit Batch Edit when you have finished editing the grid.

For fields that are not visible in the current grid layout, use the selected-item update workflow below.

Section titled “Link associated equipment to primary equipment”

Links are created from the Equipment tab because the selected primary equipment items receive the links.

  1. Open the Equipment tab.
  2. Select each primary equipment item that should receive the link.
  3. Check Selection Count.
  4. Open Link and select Link Assoc Eq. Items.

The dialog shows the selected primary equipment above the grid. Associated equipment already linked to those items is hidden.

To review an equipment item’s current links, open its details sidebar and use Assoc. Eq. Linking or unlinking changes the relationship between the records; it does not delete the associated equipment record.
